Lino-animation

I made for my itnership a lino-animation. You can see it during the North Sea Jazz Round Town Sessions in Rotterdam in DE UNIE Mauritsweg 35.

I really enjoyed making this poster. It was a lot of work but like the effect of reduction technique.

First layer

It is just tryout of the first layer. The good prints are drying at school.

Amadeo Modigliani

In one of my last posts I wrote how important and inspiraiting is for me work of Amadeo Modigliani. And now I really cannot belive that somebody has stolen from Pompidou his masterpiece. I hope that they will find it and

Joep van Lieshout

One of the assignement I had for my intership was to make a protrait of the Dutch artist Joep van Lieshout. I like to use in my linoprint two or more colours. Usually I make two apart pieces of linoleum like on this work. But last time I discovered how nice is to use just the reduction technique.

The first one

My adventure with lino has started a few years ago. I made then a portrait of my sister with her children. When I look at this now I see so many faults and I know it is so unperfect. But on the other hand I miss now the freedom of my first linocut's picture, the emotions, intuition and uconscious. But yeah... the teachers exptect from me to be very aware with everything what I am making. Nowadays everything is just about the concept and presentation...
